Participants in your P4T challenges will see a few automatic Pacer app notifications and pop-ups to help them along the way. They include challenge start and end date notifications, data sync reminders, and wearable sync assistance, to name a few. Participants must have enabled Pacer app push notifications in the app settings to receive these notifications.
Auto Notifications - Challenge Start & End Dates and Sync Reminders
For all active challenges a participant has joined, both mandatory and voluntary, they will receive start and end date notifications. These are activated when an admin publishes a challenge and are sent at 09:00 am in each participant’s global time zone. No other actions are required.
P4T challenges require all users to regularly sync data from their phones and wearables to ensure it's sent to the Pacer servers and the challenge leaderboards. We recommend once a day to ensure the leaderboard is up-to-date and accurate. If a participant has not opened Pacer in 24 hours, Pacer will send an app reminder.
In-App Windows & Pop-Ups
New participants who join your P4T org should see a green Connect a Wearable window The button will shortcut them to user settings > Data & Syncing > Apps & Devices menu.
No Manually Added Activities Allowed
If participants save a manually-added activity in their individual Pacer account and participate in a challenge with rules that do not allow it (the default setting), they will receive a message. They can choose to save it anyway or discard it. Note: disallowed activities are not deleted from the individual's account - it's only filtered out of the challenge leaderboard.
