You will need:
-
A desktop/laptop computer - to manage the Pacer for Teams Admin challenge platform
-
Smartphone - to download and use Pacer to track fitness data
-
A positive attitude and a friendly, competitive spirit
Here are the basics to set up your P4T Admin platform, invite participants to the challenge, and get moving:
1. Register a free Pacer for Teams Admin account.
Every P4T Admin account defaults as the free Standard Version, which uses the P4T system monthly calendar to track and manage participant data, but lacks the features such as creating official challenges and sorting/exporting data. Review the P4T Versions article to compare the two, and contact us at teams@mypacer.com. Be sure to share your P4T Org Code for any Enterprise free trial/upgrade discussions.
You and any of your Admin team should also peruse our Pacer for Teams support articles area to review product features, invite process steps, and limitations.
2. Edit your account's organization information/settings.
Add icons and adjust challenge settings as need be, such as allowing manually added fitness data and adding additional Admins.
3. Create teams based on your challenge goals.
Optional, but you should creat them before inviting participants. If teams have been created, a participant will have the option to choose one when they join the Organization in the Pacer app.
4. Create and prepare your challenge.
P4T Enterprise Orgs (Subscription & Free Trial) can create total step, total distance, daily step goal, and GPS pace challenges with start and end dates, along with other branding & fundraising features. Once the challenge has been created, participants in the your P4T Org will automatically be entered into the challenge.
P4T Standard Orgs will rely on the Data Center leaderboards and use the system's monthly clock.
5. Download Pacer and practice onboarding.
If you haven't done so already, download Pacer in the Apple App Store, or the Google Play store, and make trial runs through the P4T challenge invite process, locate the Pacer for Teams challenge access points, and managing activity data in the Pacer app.
6. Invite Participants.
Share the Pacer app download link, QR Code, or Org Code with challenge participants in whatever communication hub you'd like to use. Participants who tap the invite link or scan the QR code on their smartphone will be guided through the entire app download and P4T Org entry process.
7. Get Moving!
Ensure participants have downloaded Pacer, successfully joined the P4T challenge Organization, smartphone settings, and activity are all OK, and off you go.
