The Pacer app must be launched periodically to sync participant data with the Pacer for Teams leaderboard, and we recommend participants open Pacer at least once a day for 1-2 minutes to check-in. The app does not need to be continuously open to track steps.
If a participant is experiencing activity data issues, please visit the Differing Step Counts support article and follow the troubleshooting protocols.
Real Time Data Updates - Participants
Participants' fitness data might not immediately update on the Pacer for Teams leaderboard. If this happens, they can manually sync their data by accessing the challenge leaderboards and swiping down. A blinking loading indicator will let users know that the data is syncing. After syncing, the user's home screen step count and leaderboard step count should be identical.
Real Time Data Updates - Admin Platform
The P4T Admin Portal does not automatically refresh in web browsers, and therefore, Admins should refresh their browser after a period of time to view the most updated leaderboard.
Data Calendar Limitations
Data tracked by Pacer, but not yet updated to Pacer for Teams, can still be updated on the leaderboard 7 days after data is recorded. Data more than 7 days old that hasn’t been synced with the challenge leaderboard cannot be updated.
No GPS activities required
Participants do not need to continuously record GPS activities during the day to accurately record fitness data, as this severely drains the phone battery.
Visit the Manage Activity Data in Challenges article for more information.
