The Pacer app must be launched periodically to sync participant data with the Pacer for Teams leaderboard, and we recommend participants open Pacer at least once a day to ensure this happens. Data tracked by Pacer but not yet updated to Pacer for Teams, can still be updated on the leaderboard 7 days after data is recorded. Data more than 7 days old that hasn’t been synced with the challenge leaderboard cannot be updated.
- Example: An iOS user does not launch Pacer for 10 days, although the app remains running in the background and counting steps. If the user opens Pacer on day 10, it will sync the last 7 days of data to the Pacer for Teams leaderboard. The first 3 days of data cannot be synced and will be recorded as zed/zero steps in the challenge leaderboard.
- Participants' fitness data might not immediately update on the Pacer for Teams leaderboard. If this happens, they can manually sync their data by accessing the challenge leaderboard and swiping down. A blinking loading indicator will let users know that the data is syncing.
- Participants do not need to continuously record GPS activities during the day to accurately record fitness data, as this severely drains the phone battery.
