How do I register for an Adventure Challenge with a finisher medal?
You can find all of our available Adventure Challenges on this page. If any of them interest you, select that particular challenge and click on "Register Now".
Enter your information and mailing address, then complete the payment via the options available to you. Now you're registered and ready to go! You'll be redirected in a few seconds to a page with your challenge join code.
How do I access the challenge once I've signed up?
To access your virtual challenge you'll need to download our popular fitness app, Pacer for iOS/ Android. When you register for a challenge you will receive a join code, which you can input in our app to access your challenge. Customize challenge duration up to 360 days and choose to allow manual entry. We advise all users to click "allow manual entry" when creating a challenge!
Here are the default challenge time frames for reference:
Machu Picchu - 33 km / 7 days
Grand Canyon - 36 km / 7 days
Mount Kilimanjaro - 50 km / 7 days
Mount Fuji - 40 km / 7 days
Great Wall- 300 km/ 42 days
Can I do this from anywhere? What types of exercise count?
Yes! You can complete your challenge anywhere. Earn progress toward this challenge by using Pacer to track your walks, hikes and runs. Any activity tracked by our app (your phone) will count toward your progress. If you wish to complete the challenge on a transportation device such as a bike or kayak, please manually input this activity.
Can I manually input activity? How do I do that?
Yes! Users can select "allow manual input distance" in the app to enter distance tracked by third-party devices or distances completed through cycling/ kayaking, etc. Once again, we advise all users to click "allow manual entry" when creating a challenge. If issues with missing distances arise, you can add back in the data that was not counted to challenge progress.
Here are some instructions:
1. Click on the "shoe" button in the app
2. Scroll down to "Log My Health Data"(iOS)/ "Do More" (Android)
3. Click Log Activity and record your distance. This should be updated to your challenge progress!
Do I have to complete all the mileage in one workout?
No. Pacer challenges are designed so everyone can challenge themselves at a pace and effort level that they are personally comfortable with. Each time you complete a distance-based exercise activity such as running or walking (or input biking/ kayaking activity), you will advance along the virtual map. Some people complete challenges at once, some use them as incentive to follow training schedules, and some use them as motivation to just start moving.
What’s included in the cost? Do I need to pay for other things to join?
The registration includes access to your chosen challenge in Pacer App, the medal, shipping, etc. You do NOT need to be a Premium Member of the App to enter- your challenge join code covers this Premium cost. When you first open the App, you may be prompted with an "Upgrade to Premium" screen. You may skip it and start the challenge with no barrier. Here's a screenshot to guide you:
P.S. Please be sure to cancel your free trial if you've taken one by mistake to avoid unwanted charges! :)
When will the medals be delivered?
Medals will be mailed to you once you have completed the challenge. If you do not complete your challenge in the time given, we will still mail the medal to you after the challenge time expires.
We offer worldwide shipping. Shipping generally takes 7-20 business days. For some countries, it may take longer.
Your tracking number and the express company website link will be sent in e-mail immediately after we ship the medals. We will also e-mail you if there is an unsuccessful delivery.
How do I enter as a group?
To form a group challenge, one person must be the "host" while the others "participants". Participants should quit existing challenges if in any. All of you must have signed up for the SAME challenge.
1. The host sets up the time frame and creates the challenge. Tap "share" button on the top right corner of the challenge.
2. The host shares the challenge with participants (Share Code/ Link, both works)
3. The participants locate the challenge created by host. Tap join and enter their Registration codes
Note that "Registration code" is for people to get into a challenge (like a ticket), while the "Share Code" is only for people to locate a challenge (like postal code).
Here's what you'll arrive at eventually (this is a group of 3, attending the Mt Fuji challenge):
