Allowlists must be set up with your Pacer for Teams account manager. This feature is not included in the Enterprise plan, and additional fees apply. If you are interested in setting up an allowlist for your P4T Organization, please contact your account manager (or teams@mypacer.com).
What is an Allowlist?
An allowlist is a list of participant emails that defines exactly who may join your P4T Organization. If you have enabled an allowlist, participants will be required to register a Pacer account with an email address that matches the one on your list/roster when they join your P4T Org.
Allowlists also let you strictly predefine all team assignments, if your challenge will include teams.
Setting Up an Allowlist:
The first step is to contact us so that we can get a better understanding of your organization's requirements. Once requirements are confirmed, we'll be able to give you a price quotation and guide you through the process.
Typically, to set up an allowlist you'll need to provide us with a file that contains all of the email addresses and team names (optional) for everyone you want to join your P4T Org. An Excel or CSV file is the appropriate file type, and we'll work with you to ensure the formatting is ok and the data is accurate.
Pre-Challenge Test Period:
We recommend you deliver your list to us at least 1 week before you plan to start sending out invitations for your challenge. This will give us enough time to test and correct the list if needed.
Onboarding Participants:
If you enact an allowlist, participants will still need to download the Pacer app, input the P4T Org Code, and register an account with Pacer.
However, unlike the normal onboarding process, participants must register with an email address - not Facebook or other 3rd party logins - and that email must match the email on your list.
Users who try to register with an invalid email address will not be allowed to join your P4T Org and subsequent challenges until they are able to provide the valid one from your list.
Predefining Teams:
If your allowlist also assigns each email address to a predefined team, participants will be automatically assigned to that team during the onboarding process.
Participants will not be able to change their team, but you and any other Admins will still be able to move participants between teams from the P4T Admin portal.
