Uninstalling (deleting) the Pacer app does not cancel an active subscription. Your subscription is managed by the store you used to subscribe (Apple App Store or Google Play), so billing continues until you cancel it in your store account.
Why this happens
When you start a subscription in an iOS or Android app, the payment agreement is created and billed by:
- Apple (App Store subscriptions) on iOS
- Google (Google Play subscriptions) on Android
Deleting the app only removes it from your phone — it does not remove the store subscription agreement.
How to cancel (the correct way)
iOS (iPhone / iPad) — Cancel via Apple Subscriptions
- Open Settings
- Tap your name (Apple ID)
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap your Pacer subscription
- Tap Cancel Subscription
If you don’t see “Cancel,” it may already be canceled.
Android — Cancel via Google Play
Important: Uninstalling an app won’t cancel the subscription.
Typical path:
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap your profile icon
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select Pacer
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow prompts
Google also notes that if you can’t find it, it may be on a different Google account.
What happens after you cancel?
- You usually keep access until the end of the current billing period (or the end of a free trial, depending on when you cancel).
- Canceling stops future renewals.
(Exact timing and refund eligibility are controlled by Apple/Google policies.)
If you can’t find the Pacer subscription to cancel
On iOS
Apple recommends searching your email for a receipt/invoice and checking which Apple Account was used (it might be a different Apple ID, or a family member’s).
On Android
Try switching Google accounts in the Play Store / Google account settings, since the subscription may be on another account.
Quick self-check (recommended)
After canceling:
- Go back to Subscriptions
- Confirm Pacer shows an expiration date or canceled status (Apple)
- Or appears under Canceled / shows it will not renew (Google)
