Pacer gives you a few “layers” of visibility control. The big one is who can view your Profile, because your Profile is where people can see many of your stats (and things like League status). By default, your Pacer profile is public.
What others can potentially see
Depending on what you share and where you share it, other Pacer users may be able to see:
- Your Profile info (display name, profile photo, bio, region, followers/following list, etc.) — public by default
- Your posts (images/notes/check-ins/GPS activities) when you post to the Feed or a Group
- Your League status on your Profile (it can’t be hidden from everyone, but you can restrict who can view your Profile)
1) Make your Profile less visible (most important)
If you want to limit who can see your steps/activity info, start here.
Set Profile visibility to “Follower”
- Open Pacer.
- Go to Settings → Privacy Settings.
- Find Profile visibility and set it to “Follower.”
What this does:
- By default, your Profile is accessible to all users.
- When set to Follower, only your followers can view your Profile, and other users must send a follow request to gain access.
2) Control who can see your posts
A) Choose whether to post at all (vs. save only)
When you create a step screenshot, you can choose “Post to Feed” (publicly posting inside Pacer) or “Save” (keep it for yourself / share elsewhere).
If your goal is privacy: use “Save” instead of “Post to Feed.”
B) Pick where you share inside Pacer
Pacer supports sharing to:
- A particular Group, or
- The entire Pacer community
And for privacy:
- Groups (and shared notes) can be set to public or private
Also note: if you post images/notes/check-ins/GPS activities to the Feed or a Group, it will be visible to other Pacer users.
3) Control who can see your steps/activity stats
There isn’t a single “hide my steps” button referenced in the public Help Center pages, but in practice:
- Many activity-related items (including League status) are shown on your Profile.
- Pacer explicitly recommends controlling access by managing who can view your Profile.
So if you want fewer people to see your steps/activity:
- Set Profile visibility to “Follower.”
- Avoid posting step screenshots / GPS activities to Feed (save instead).
- Prefer private Groups if you want to share only with a smaller circle.
4) Special case: Pacer for Teams (workplace challenges)
If you join a Pacer for Teams organization, the organization’s admin(s) can see some of your information, including daily exercise summaries. You can revoke that access by removing yourself from the organization.
Quick “best privacy” checklist
- Set Settings → Privacy Settings → Profile visibility = Follower
- Don’t post sensitive items to Feed; use Save instead
- Share inside private Groups when you want a smaller audience
- If you’re in Pacer for Teams, remember org admins may see daily exercise summaries
