If you received fewer Streak Freezes than expected on Sunday, here are the most common reasons:
1. Your Gems balance was 1,000 or above
The number of Streak Freezes you receive on Sunday is affected by your Gems balance. If your balance was 1,000 or above when Sunday arrived, you may have received fewer Freezes than usual.
To maximize your Sunday top-up, keep your Gems balance under 1,000 before each Sunday.
See How do Gems affect my Streak rest days? for the full breakdown.
Example (Goal Streak):
A user had a long Goal Streak and used a rest day on Sunday August 23rd. The following Sunday (August 30th), their Gems balance was 1,200 — above 1,000 — so Pacer only added 1 Streak Freeze instead of 2. They used that 1 Freeze on Friday August 29th, leaving 0 for Saturday August 30th. When they missed their step goal on Saturday, there were no Freezes left to cover it and their streak broke.
What they could have done: If their Gems balance had been under 1,000 before Sunday August 24th, they would have received 2 Streak Freezes — enough to cover both Friday and Saturday.
Example (Standard Streak):
A user had a Standard Streak and used their 1 rest day on Wednesday August 27th. The following Sunday (August 30th), their Gems balance was 1,050 — above 1,000 — so Pacer added 0 Streak Freezes. When they missed their step goal on Monday August 31st, there were no Freezes left to cover it and their streak broke.
What they could have done: If their Gems balance had been under 1,000 before Sunday August 30th, they would have received 1 Streak Freeze — enough to cover Monday August 31st.
2. You already had Streak Freezes remaining
Pacer only tops up your Streak Freezes if you have fewer than the maximum. If you still had Freezes left over from the previous week, fewer or no new Freezes would have been added.
Example (Goal Streak):
A user had 1 Streak Freeze remaining on Sunday and their Gems balance was 1,200. Because their Gems were above 1,000, Pacer added 0 additional Freezes. They used their last Freeze on Tuesday, leaving 0 for the rest of the week. When they missed their step goal on Thursday, their streak broke.
What they could have done: If their Gems balance had been under 1,000, they would have received 1 additional Freeze on Sunday, giving them 2 Freezes for the week.
3. You are on Standard Streak mode
Standard Streak users receive a maximum of 1 Streak Freeze per Sunday top-up, even with a low Gems balance. Goal Streak users can receive up to 2 Freezes per Sunday.
If you'd like to receive more rest days each week, consider switching to Goal Streak mode.
Example:
A Standard Streak user had 0 Streak Freezes remaining and a Gems balance of 500 on Sunday. They received 1 Freeze — the maximum for Standard Streak users. They used it on Friday, leaving 0 for Saturday. When they missed their step goal on Saturday, their streak broke.
If the same user had been on Goal Streak mode with the same Gems balance, they would have received 2 Freezes on Sunday — enough to cover both Friday and Saturday.
