We’re committed to keeping Pacer a welcoming, safe place for everyone—across the app, community features (profiles, comments, groups, messages), and any official Pacer channels (email, social, events). Harassment is any improper or unwelcome conduct that a reasonable person could expect (or perceive) to cause offense or humiliation.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to all users and all interactions involving Pacer, including:
- In-app community spaces (comments, groups, leaderboards, DMs where applicable)
- User profiles and uploaded content (images, names, bios)
- Support interactions (tickets, emails, chats)
- Any official Pacer online or offline events and channels
Our standards: what we expect
We expect behavior that supports a positive environment, including:
- Using welcoming, inclusive language
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
- Accepting constructive feedback gracefully
- Showing empathy and acting in good faith
We also expect everyone to follow applicable laws and respect personal boundaries.
Anti-harassment: what is not allowed
Harassment and abusive behavior are not tolerated. Examples include (online or offline):
- Hate, discrimination, or demeaning content targeting someone’s identity or protected characteristics (e.g., race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, etc.)
- Threats of violence, encouragement of harm, or intimidation
- Bullying, persistent unwanted contact, stalking, or coordinated harassment (including “dogpiling”)
- Sexual harassment: unwanted sexual attention, sexualized comments, advances, or sexualized imagery directed at someone
- Doxxing / privacy violations: sharing someone’s private information (address, phone, email, workplace, etc.) without permission
- Impersonation or deception intended to harass, scam, or manipulate
- Non-consensual intimate content or any content that exploits or endangers others
- Hate symbols or content that promotes extremist violence
- Spam or abusive solicitation (including repeated self-promotion that disrupts the community)
If you’re unsure whether something crosses the line: don’t post it, and choose the respectful option.
What to do if you experience or witness harassment
1) Report it
Use Report in the app (recommended), or contact Support. When you report, include:
- The username/user ID of the person involved
- Where it happened (group name, comment thread, message, profile)
- Screenshots (including timestamps if possible)
- Any links or message text that show the behavior clearly
2) If you feel unsafe right now
If there is an immediate safety risk or credible threat, contact local emergency services first, then report to us with any available details.
How we respond (enforcement)
We review reports as soon as possible and may take action including:
- Removing content, restricting visibility, or limiting interactions
- Warning the user and requiring behavior changes
- Temporary feature restrictions (commenting, posting, messaging)
- Temporary suspension or permanent ban (for severe or repeated violations)
Our goal is to stop harm, prevent repeats, and protect the community. We consider context, severity, patterns of behavior, and evidence. (We may also take action based on behavior that happens off-platform if it clearly threatens community safety.)
No retaliation
Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern—or participates in an investigation—is not allowed. If you believe you’re being retaliated against, report it immediately.
Privacy and confidentiality
We handle reports discreetly and share information only as needed to investigate and enforce this policy. We may retain records (e.g., screenshots, logs) to improve safety and prevent repeat abuse.
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting Support and including:
- Your account email/ID
- The decision you’re appealing (warning, restriction, suspension, etc.)
- Any relevant context or evidence
Summary
Be kind, keep it respectful, and help us protect the community. We do not tolerate harassment in any form, and we will act to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
