We want Pacer’s community to be helpful, welcoming, and safe. Sometimes a post or comment may be hidden (temporarily not visible) or removed (taken down) when it’s flagged for review, appears to violate our rules, or looks like spam.
Platforms commonly rely on a mix of automated detection, user reports, and human review to find policy-violating or unsafe content.
What “Hidden” vs “Removed” means
Hidden (usually temporary)
A post may be hidden when it’s pending review—for example, if it triggers a moderation filter or gets reported. Some community systems route content into a moderation queue for approval before it becomes visible.
Removed (usually final)
A post may be removed when it violates community rules or is confirmed as spam/abuse after review.
Common reasons posts get hidden or removed
1) It’s caught by spam or moderation filters
Posts may be held for review if they match spam signals or certain keywords (links, repeated text, suspicious formatting, aggressive promotion, etc.). Many help center communities use moderation filters specifically to reduce spam and abusive content.
2) It violates community guidelines (examples)
Your post may be removed if it includes:
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or bullying
- Pornographic content or encouragement of violence
- Illegal content or highly harmful content categories (platforms often use automated detection here)
- Personal data (phone numbers, addresses, private medical details) or doxxing
- Scams, impersonation, or suspicious solicitation
3) It’s reported by other users
User reports are a common signal for review, and platforms use them alongside automated tools and human reviewers.
4) It’s off-topic, duplicate, or disruptive
We may remove or redirect posts that:
- Are unrelated to the community/topic
- Are duplicates of the same question posted repeatedly
- Intentionally derail conversations or flood threads
If your post isn’t visible: what to do
Wait a little and refresh
If your post is pending moderation, it may appear after review (some systems review content in batches or at intervals).
Check for sensitive content and edit if needed
Before reposting, remove:
- Personal info (email, phone number, address, screenshots with IDs)
- Excessive links or promotional content
Aggressive language or insults
Avoid reposting the same content repeatedly
Repeated reposting can look like spam and may delay approval.
Can I appeal or ask for a review?
Yes. If you believe your post was removed by mistake:
- Contact Support and include:
- Approximate time posted
- Screenshot (if you have it)
- Any relevant context (what you were trying to ask/share)
How to avoid having posts removed
- Keep it respectful and constructive
- Stay on topic
- Don’t share private information
- Avoid spam-like patterns (repeated text, repeated links, mass posting)
- If sharing external resources, explain why it’s relevant and keep links minimal
