Pacer uses streaks to encourage consistent daily activity. A streak tracks how many consecutive days you hit your daily step goal. Rest days are built into this system so you can maintain your streak even when life gets in the way.
Understanding Streaks
- Streak refers to how many days in a row you achieve your daily step goal.
- Streaks motivate you to stay active by rewarding consistency.
Why Rest Days Exist
Nobody can be active every single day. Travel, illness, and busy schedules happen. Rest days allow you to take a break without losing your streak.
How Rest Days Work
- You are allowed to take up to two rest days within each week, which runs from Sunday through Saturday, without losing your current streak. This means that even if you do not meet your step goal on up to two days during the week, your streak will remain intact.
- Rest days are automatically applied whenever you fail to reach your daily step goal. This automatic application ensures that you do not have to manually designate a rest day; the system will recognize when your steps fall short and count that day as a rest day.
- It is important to note that rest days reset at the beginning of each new week and do not carry over to the following week. So, any unused rest days from the previous week will not be available once the new week starts.
- If you do not meet your step goal on a day and you have already used up your two rest days for that week, your streak will be broken. When this happens, your streak count will be reset to zero, and you will need to start building your streak again from the beginning.
Example Scenario
Imagine you have a 10‑day streak and two rest days available. On Day 11, you walk less than your step goal. One rest day will be used automatically, and your streak will continue at 11 days. You will still have one rest day left. If you miss your goal again on Day 12, the second rest day will be used; the streak continues to 12 days but your rest day balance drops to zero. If you miss again on Day 13 without any rest days, the streak resets.
Summary
A Streak Rest Day lets you keep your Pacer streak alive when you need a break from your daily step goal. Pacer applies them automatically whenever you miss a day. This feature acknowledges that life isn’t always predictable and helps you stay motivated over the long term.
