Pacer keeps you motivated by tracking your Streak—the number of consecutive days you reach your daily step goal. But life happens: illness, injury, or travel can get in the way. Streak Pause lets Pacer Premium subscribers temporarily “freeze” their streak so you don’t lose it when you need time off. This feature is part of Pacer’s Premium bundle and is designed for situations when you’re sick or injured.
What Does Streak Pause Do?
- Freezes your Streak temporarily. The Streak Pause feature allows you to suspend your streak for a period of up to 31 days. During this pause, your streak will be protected and remain intact, ensuring that your progress is not lost even though you are not actively maintaining the streak.
- For illness, injury or life events. Streak Pause is intended for short‑term interruptions—such as being sick, injured, or away from your routine. It is not meant for skipping goals when you’re simply unmotivated.
- Premium feature. Streak Pause and Streak Repair are available only for Pacer Premium members.
- Not retroactive. You must activate Streak Pause before the day you miss your goal; it cannot repair a streak that has already been broken. For missed days, you can use Streak Repair (another Premium feature).
How Is It Different from Streak Rest Day or Streak Repair?
| Feature | Purpose | Who Can Use It? |
|---|---|---|
| Streak Rest Day | Protect your streak automatically when you don't meet your daily step goal someday—useful for minor breaks. | Available to everyone (no subscription needed). |
| Streak Pause | Lets you proactively freeze your streak for multiple days (sickness, injury, travel). | Pacer Premium |
| Streak Repair | Allows you to fix a broken streak after you’ve missed a day because of an unexpected issue. | Pacer Premium |
When Should I Use Streak Pause?
Use Streak Pause when you know you won’t meet your daily step goal for more than a day due to:
- Illness or injury.
- Medical procedures or doctor‑ordered rest.
- Travel without easy access to walking/exercise.
- Other unavoidable life events that keep you from reaching your goal.
For single missed days or minor schedule conflicts, the free Streak Rest Day may be enough.
How to Pause Your Streak (iOS & Android)
- Open Pacer and make sure you’re logged in.
- Tap the fire or flame icon on the top right corner to enter Streak detail
- Look for Streak Pause and tap USE
Tip: Even while paused, Pacer will continue recording your steps. Those steps will count toward your daily totals and leaderboards; they just won’t advance or reset your streak.
Limitations and Notes
- Premium‑only: You must have an active Pacer Premium subscription.

- Not cumulative: Unused pause don’t roll over to the next period.

Common Questions
Can I still walk during a Streak Pause?
Absolutely. Pacer still tracks your steps and activities; the pause only stops the streak counter from changing.
Will a Streak Pause hide my activity from friends?
No. Your activity feed, groups and challenges continue to show your steps. Streak Pause only affects the streak count.
Can I extend or shorten a pause?
You can shorten a pause by resuming early. To extend beyond the maximum days allowed, you’ll need to start a new pause once the current one ends (if you have pause left in your subscription).
What if I forget to activate a pause and miss my goal?
You can use Streak Repair to fix a broken streak (Premium feature). It allows you to retroactively recover a missed day.
