Pacer uses streaks to encourage consistent daily activity. A streak tracks how many consecutive days you hit your daily step goal. Rest days are built into this system so you can maintain your streak even when life gets in the way.
Understanding Streaks
- A Streak refers to how many days in a row you achieve your daily step goal
- Streaks motivate you to stay active by rewarding consistency
Why Rest Days Exist
Nobody can be active every single day. Travel, illness, and busy schedules happen. Rest days allow you to take a break without losing your streak.
How Rest Days Work
Rest days in Pacer are called Streak Freezes. You can hold a maximum of 2 Streak Freezes at a time.
- Streak Freezes are used automatically whenever you fail to reach your daily step goal
- You do not have to manually designate a rest day — Pacer recognizes when your steps fall short and uses a Freeze automatically
- If you miss your step goal and have no Streak Freezes remaining, your streak will break and reset to zero
How to get Streak Freezes
There are two ways to get Streak Freezes:
- Sunday top-up — Every Sunday, Pacer automatically adds Streak Freezes to your balance based on your Streak mode and Gems balance (see below)
- Pacer Shop — You can purchase additional Streak Freezes at any time for 200 Gems each
Sunday Streak Freeze top-up
How many Streak Freezes you receive each Sunday depends on your Streak mode and your Gems balance.
Standard Streak users:
| Streak Freezes remaining | Gems balance | Freezes added |
|---|---|---|
| 0 remaining | Under 1,000 | 1 added |
| 0 remaining | 1,000 or above | 0 added |
| 1 remaining | Any | 0 added |
Goal Streak users:
| Streak Freezes remaining | Gems balance | Freezes added |
|---|---|---|
| 0 remaining | Under 1,000 | 2 added |
| 0 remaining | 1,000 or above | 1 added |
| 1 remaining | Under 1,000 | 1 added |
| 1 remaining | 1,000 or above | 0 added |
| 2 remaining | Any | 0 added |
Key tip: Keep your Gems balance under 1,000 before each Sunday to maximize the number of Streak Freezes you receive.
Example Scenario
A user is on Goal Streak mode with a 340-day streak and 1 Streak Freeze remaining. Their Gems balance on Sunday is 800 — under 1,000 — so Pacer adds 1 additional Freeze, giving them 2 Freezes for the week.
They use one Freeze on Wednesday and one on Friday. On Saturday, they miss their step goal again but have no Freezes left — their streak breaks.
The following Sunday, they have 0 Freezes remaining and their Gems balance is 500. Pacer adds 2 new Freezes, and they start the new week with a full balance.
Summary
Streak Freezes let you keep your Pacer streak alive when you need a break from your daily step goal. Pacer applies them automatically whenever you miss a day. The number of Freezes you receive each Sunday depends on your Streak mode and Gems balance — so keep your Gems under 1,000 before Sunday to get the most out of the top-up!
