Pacer Leagues are dynamic leaderboard challenges that enable you to compete with others on Pacer through daily step counts and activity points, while pursuing your personal health and fitness objectives. The League system serves as a motivational ranking feature, allowing you to compete with other walkers at comparable activity levels. The primary objectives are to encourage you to remain active, recognize your progress, and enhance the enjoyment of your fitness journey.
Why Leagues are motivating
- Friendly competition – You’re grouped with users who have similar activity levels, so everyone has a fair shot at climbing the rankings.
- Visible progress – Climbing from one league to the next (e.g., Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Diamond) shows you’re consistently meeting your goals and provides extra satisfaction.
- Community engagement – Sharing your league status encourages your friends to cheer you on and keeps you accountable.
How Pacer’s League system works
1. Eligibility and enrollment
- Automatic Entry – Separate registration is not required.
- New users join a league on their second app open in a week (with at least 1,000 steps that day).
- Users who have previously participated in a league will be automatically enrolled in a new league when the leagues reset the following week, unless they choose to opt out.
- Every week you are randomly assigned to a league comprising 20 participants of the same level.
2. League cycles
- Weekly cycles
- Each League runs for one week and restarts every Monday.
- The league week begins at 3 AM every Monday and concludes at midnight the following Monday. The results and data for the week are processed and finalized by 1 AM. Please note, joining new open leagues will be closed 12 hours before the league's conclusion.
- Pacer splits users into three general time zones, which means the exact start and end times of each League may vary based on your device’s timezone.
3. League levels
Pacer Leagues have ten levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Amethyst, Pearl, Obsidian, and Diamond.
4. League points
League points primarily rely on your daily step count, with 100 steps equating to 1 point. The daily cap for step count points is 300 points, equivalent to 30,000 steps.
Once you hit the daily cap, extra steps won't add more points, but you can still earn up to 200 bonus points weekly from:
- Daily Boosts
- Weekly Boosts
- Go Outside Boosts
- Virtual Adventures
You can find these boosts in the Pacer Shop.
5. Points Boost
