How to Join a Pacer for Teams Organization Challenge

Pacer for Teams (P4T) challenges live inside a private Organization (“Org”) in the Pacer app. Most participants join in one of two ways:

  1. Org Code (you type a code in the app) 
  2. Invite Link or QR Code (you open a link or scan a QR)

 

Before you start

  • Install the Pacer app on your phone and make sure it’s updated. 
  • Have one of the following from your organizer: 
    • Org Code, or 
    • Invite link / QR code

 

Option A: Join by Org Code

Use this if your organizer gave you a code like YOURORGNAME (often letters/numbers).

 

If you’re new to Pacer (first-time setup)

  1. Open the Pacer app. 
  2. On the first screen, tap the option to enter a challenge/org code (wording can vary by app version). 
  3. Enter the Org Code exactly as provided (no extra spaces). 
  4. Confirm you’re joining the correct Organization, then tap Join. 
  5. Create your account/profile if prompted, and accept any Terms/Privacy prompts to finish joining.

 

If you already have a Pacer account

  1. Open Pacer. 
  2. Tap the Search icon (magnifying glass) on the Home screen. 
  3. Enter your Org Code. 
  4. Confirm the Organization, then tap Join. 
  5. Accept any prompts, then pick your team (if required).

 

✅ Once you’ve joined the Organization, you’ll typically be able to see the active challenge(s) inside that Org.

 

Option B: Join by Invite Link or QR Code

Use this if your organizer sent you a link or a QR image.

 

Join by Invite Link (recommended)

  1. Open the invite link on your phone (not on a desktop). 
  2. If Pacer is installed, the link should open the Pacer app and guide you through joining. 
  3. If you don’t have Pacer, you’ll be prompted to install it first, then return to the link. 
  4. Log in (or create an account), confirm the Organization/Challenge, and tap Join to finish.

 

Join by QR Code

  1. Use your phone camera (or a QR scanner) to scan the QR code. 
  2. Tap the prompt that appears to open the join page. 
  3. Continue exactly like the Invite Link steps above (install → log in → confirm → join).

 

Common issues and fixes

“My Org Code doesn’t work”

  • Double-check spelling and capitalization (some org codes are case-sensitive). 
  • Remove spaces before/after the code. 
  • If you still can’t find it, ask your organizer to confirm the code or send an invite link/QR instead.

 

“The invite link opens the App Store / doesn’t open Pacer”

  • Make sure you’re opening the link on your phone. 
  • Install/update Pacer, then open the invite link again. 
  • If it still won’t open, try scanning the QR code version (if available).

 

“I joined, but I don’t see the challenge”

  • Some Orgs have multiple challenges—make sure you’re looking inside the correct Organization area. 
  • Ask your organizer whether the challenge has started yet or if you need to join a specific team.
