If your organization is running a Pacer for Teams (P4T) challenge, your admin will share an invite link (sometimes also a QR code). Opening that link on your phone will guide you to install Pacer (if needed) and then join your organization’s private event space.
Once you’ve joined the organization, you’ll either be automatically added to mandatory challenges or you’ll be prompted to join voluntary challenges.
Before you start
You will need:
- A smartphone (iPhone or Android)
- Your organization’s invite link (from your admin)
- Your organization’s Org Code (often shown on the invite page or shared separately)
Step 1: Open the invite link on your phone
- Tap the invite link on your phone (recommended: open in your default browser).
- If you already have the Pacer app installed, the link should route you into Pacer.
- If you don’t have Pacer installed, the invite link will take you to the download page first.
Tip: If you opened the link on a computer by accident, resend it to yourself (email/text) and open it on your phone.
Step 2: Install (or update) the Pacer app
- Install Pacer from the App Store / Google Play if prompted.
- If you already have Pacer, update to the latest version for best reliability.
Important: After installing, you may need to return to the invite link and tap it again to complete joining.
Step 3: Join your organization using the Org Code
Joining a P4T challenge starts by joining the Pacer for Teams organization (org)—this is the private event space where your challenges live.
If you’re new to Pacer
- Open the Pacer app.
- On the first/welcome screen, enter your Org Code to join the organization.
If you already use Pacer and are logged in
- Open the Pacer app.
- Tap the Search icon on the home screen.
- Enter your Org Code to join.
Step 4: Create your account / profile (if prompted)
If you’re not signed in yet, Pacer will ask you to:
- Sign up or log in (usually via email)
- Complete your basic profile
(Some organizations may ask you to use a specific naming format—follow your admin’s instructions.)
Step 5: Choose a team (only if your org uses teams)
- If your admin created multiple teams, you may be asked to select a team before you can access challenges.
- In many orgs, once you join a team, only an admin can change your team during the challenge period.
Step 6: Enter the challenge
After you join the organization:
- Mandatory challenges: you’ll be added automatically.
- Voluntary challenges: you’ll be given the option to join.
Each challenge has its own leaderboard, and joined challenges may be pinned for quick access.
Troubleshooting
The invite link opens a webpage but doesn’t open the Pacer app
- Install/update Pacer first, then return to the invite link and tap it again.
- Make sure your browser allows opening links in apps (if prompted, tap Open).
I can’t find the Org Code
- Ask your challenge admin to resend it.
- Many orgs display the Org Code on the invite page or in the onboarding instructions.
I joined the org but don’t see any challenges
- Some challenges are scheduled to start later (you may not see leaderboards until the challenge begins).
- If challenges are voluntary, you may need to tap Join inside your organization space.
Need help?
If you still can’t join after following the steps above, contact your organization admin first (they can verify the org code and membership rules). If needed, you can also reach Pacer Support from inside the app.
