Use Google Health to share your Fitbit steps with Health Connect, then let Pacer read those steps.
Fitbit → Google Health → Health Connect → Pacer
1. Sync your Fitbit
Open Google Health on the same Android phone as Pacer. Sign in to the account connected to your Fitbit and sync your device. Check that your recent steps appear there.
2. Connect Google Health to Health Connect
In the current Google setup guide:
- Open Connections → Partner apps.
- Under Add connections, find Sync your favorite health apps, then tap Set up.
- Accept the introduction, choose Fitness and wellness, and continue to the permissions screen.
- Allow Google Health to write Steps to Health Connect. Review other sharing choices and complete setup.
This connection requires an adult Google Account. Menu labels can vary by app version; use Google's Android Health Connect guide if your screen differs. Medical-record sharing is not needed for this step connection.
3. Complete setup in Pacer
- Follow Connect Pacer to Health Connect if needed.
- In Choose Wearables, select Fitbit / Google Health.
- Once Google Health has shared your steps, return to Pacer and confirm that you completed the setup instructions.
- Review the detected sources, then continue to set your preferred source priority.
The source may be named after Google Health rather than your Fitbit model. Detection uses recent step records, not a direct connection to your tracker.
If Google Health is not detected
Check whether Health Connect contains Steps written by Google Health during the past seven days. Allowing Google Health to read other apps' steps is not the same as allowing it to write Fitbit steps.
If records are present, review Pacer's read access and retry. See Sync troubleshooting.
If Pacer prompted you to replace an older Fitbit connection, see Why is this change required?.
