Pacer is replacing its older direct Fitbit connection with a connection through Google Health and Health Connect on Android.
Your new step-syncing route is:
Fitbit → Google Health → Health Connect → Pacer
If Pacer shows you a migration prompt, complete this setup to continue using your Fitbit steps.
Will I lose my history?
Your Fitbit history already saved in Pacer stays in Pacer. Changing the connection does not mean you need to delete your account or start again.
The new connection reads recent data available in Health Connect. It does not import your entire Fitbit history again.
How do I switch to the new connection?
- On Pacer's migration screen, tap Connect Google Health.
- Activate Health Connect for Pacer if requested, including Steps read access.
- Follow the Fitbit / Google Health setup guide to share Fitbit steps with Health Connect.
- Review the detected sources, then set your preferred source priority.
- Complete the flow and enter Pacer.
Connecting Health Connect alone is not enough: Google Health must also write your Fitbit steps to it.
Can I use Phone instead?
Yes. On the migration screen, choose Switch to Phone and confirm. Pacer will use your phone as its step source instead of continuing this Fitbit setup.
Your history in Pacer is kept. You can set up a compatible wearable later from Steps Data Source or Apps & Devices.
Why do the step totals look different?
The new route uses Health Connect's aggregated steps. Source priority, overlapping records, syncing delays, and eligible manually entered Pacer steps can affect the total.
See Sync troubleshooting if recent steps do not arrive or the difference is unexpected.
