On Android, compatible wearables can share steps with Pacer through Health Connect:
Wearable → companion app → Health Connect → Pacer
For this method to work, the companion app must export Steps. An app that shares only sleep, heart rate, or workouts cannot supply your daily steps through this connection.
1. Activate Health Connect
In Pacer, open Settings → Steps Data Source → Other wearables, or Apps & Devices → Other wearables. Follow Connect Pacer to Health Connect if activation is needed.
2. Set up your wearable
Tap Add wearable if you are on the connected-device management page, then select a brand in Choose Wearables:
Open the companion app and complete its Health Connect setup. Sync your wearable there, then return to Pacer and confirm I completed the steps above to start searching.
If your brand is not listed, select Other wearables. Find Health Connect sharing in the companion app and check that it supports exporting Steps. A brand does not need its own Pacer guide to provide compatible step records.
For Galaxy Watch, see the separate Samsung Health guide. Do not choose an unrelated brand.
3. Review the detected sources
The source list is based on steps shared with Health Connect in the past seven days. It may show the app name rather than your watch's model.
If your brand is detected, tap Next. If Pacer asks whether your device's app appears in the list, choose Yes only when you recognize it. Otherwise, choose No and follow the troubleshooting steps.
A checkmark in Choose Wearables reflects the latest successful source check. It does not prove the device is connected right now. Confirming a source manually also does not establish a new Bluetooth connection or create missing data.
4. Set your preferred source
Follow Manage source priorities. Include the app you want to use and give it the highest Activity priority if you want it to take precedence over overlapping sources. Return to Pacer and confirm completion.
If your app cannot share Steps
Check its current Android documentation or contact its support team. Installing an app or selecting its brand in Pacer does not add Health Connect compatibility.
See Sync troubleshooting if setup is complete but steps are missing.
