Check the connection in this order:
Wearable → companion app → Health Connect → Pacer
This helps you find where the latest steps stop appearing.
1. Check the wearable's app
Open the companion app on your phone. Sync your wearable and check that the missing day's steps appear there.
If the steps are missing from the companion app, resolve that connection first. Pacer cannot retrieve steps that have not reached the app supplying them.
2. Check the records in Health Connect
Open Health Connect and find its data browser. In versions that show Data and access, select Activity → Steps → See all entries. Look for the relevant date and source app.
A recent access time or a permission toggle does not prove that the app has written step records. See Google's troubleshooting guide.
If records are missing, review the companion app's sharing settings. An app can support Health Connect for some categories without exporting Steps.
3. Check Pacer's selected source and access
In Pacer's Steps Data Source, check that Health Connect is your primary source. If Pacer still uses Phone, granting Health Connect permissions alone is not enough.
If you see Needs access, restore Pacer's permissions.
4. Refresh Pacer
After the upstream records arrive, use Sync now on Pacer's connected-device management page.
Sync now refreshes available Health Connect activity and the source list. It cannot force the wearable or its companion app to upload new records.
- Sync complete: the refresh succeeded. The total may stay the same if no new records are available.
- Activity data refreshed. The source list couldn't be updated: activity and source-list results differ; retry to refresh the list.
- Source list updated. Activity data couldn't be refreshed: a detected source does not prove activity import succeeded. Retry the activity refresh.
- Couldn't sync: check access, keep Pacer open, and try again.
The source list uses recent Steps from the past seven days. A successful empty result can be normal when no app has shared recent steps. If a source check fails, Pacer can retain the previous successful list.
5. Check totals and priority
If steps arrive but the total is different, compare the same date in all apps. Review Health Connect source priorities, including whether your preferred app contributes to Activity totals.
The current Pacer connection reads recent activity, not your entire wearable history. Eligible manually entered Pacer steps may also contribute within Pacer.
If updates arrive only after you open an app, check that app's background access and your phone's battery settings. Background restrictions can delay updates.
Contact support
If Health Connect contains the steps but Pacer does not show them, contact Pacer Support with your Pacer version, Android version, device and companion-app names, affected date, and the message displayed.
If the records never reach Health Connect, contact the companion app's support team. Share only the information needed to illustrate the problem.
