Choose which app you most want your steps to come from when several apps record the same activity.
Pacer uses Health Connect's aggregated step total. The included sources and their priority can affect that total. Giving your wearable's app the highest priority can help Pacer's steps more closely reflect the activity recorded by your device.
Change the order
- Open Health Connect. You can tap Open Health Connect in Pacer's priority guide, or search your phone's Settings.
- Open Manage data → Data sources and priority. Depending on your version, the entry may be under Data and access.
- Select Activity if a category selector appears.
- Make sure your preferred app is included in App sources. If available, use Add an app to include it.
- Move that app to the top using the drag handle or the available Move up control. Save if prompted.
- Return to Pacer. In a wearable setup flow, confirm I completed the steps above.
These controls manage the Activity category and may affect other activity totals as well as steps. See Google's source-management instructions.
Which app should I choose?
Choose the app that actually writes your preferred device's steps: for example, Google Health for Fitbit, or Oura for an Oura Ring. If you deliberately use a transfer app, check the source attached to the step records before changing the order.
Will the numbers match exactly?
Not necessarily. Priority helps resolve overlapping records; it does not create missing steps or force your watch to sync. Other included sources may contribute during other periods. Pacer may also include eligible steps you entered manually.
The app is missing
Complete the app's Health Connect connection and check that recent Steps have been exported. Then reopen the priority list. Use Sync troubleshooting if needed.
Removing an app from the totals list does not necessarily revoke its access. Manage permissions separately if you want to stop data sharing.
